365 Project Day 21

Hyde Park in the snow

The light was amazing. I only had my Canon point and shoot on me but just had to take pictures. I always go with the saying that the best camera you have is the one you have there and then.

365 Project Day 20

Nifty 50/50

This is the Canon EF 50mm F1.8 mark 2 lens It is my favourite lens. This picture was also taken with one. I purchased this for my wife's birthday. You can buy this for less than £100, worth every penny. On a full frame camera (Canon 5D mark 3) 50mm is roughly what the human eye sees. On a crop sensor camera like mine (Canon 60D) its about 75mm which is portrait lens territory. It gives amazing bokeh that is where the background is blurred and the object is in focus.

365 Project Day 8

This is a stunningly bright building on Park Lane in London. It's called 45 Park Lane after it's address. The building is a hotel owned by it's more famous big brother The Dorchester next door.

365 Project Day 5

The is the sculpture Still Water by Nic Fiddian-Green www.nicfiddiangreen.com
Loads of people walk past it all the time during the day but it's at night when it comes alive.
This picture was not taken today as the light was not right at all. I took this 2 days ago but it is what I would have taken this evening if I could have.
There is some amazing things in London that people walk past everyday and never stop and take a look. This particular sculpture you can ride past on the 73 bus. You don't need to pay £30 for a tourist sightseeing bus just a Travelcard will do. I ride past this everyday.

365 Project Day 4

The Elusive Camel Pub
I chose to take a picture of this pub not for the pub itself but the power of the building. The fact that they built that huge building around it. People walk past it all the time and never look up. I find this amazing that the pub is still there.

365 Project Day 2

When I see a building that people pass through everyday. I try to look at it differently, look up once in a while. This is Victoria Station in London. The have finished restoring the incredible roof. In black and white I think it looks quite dramatic.
